From Personal Battles to Rap Battles:

Herbert Stevens IV, known as Ab-Soul, faced childhood battles with Stevens-Johnson syndrome, resulting in light sensitivity and his signature sunglasses. But, his passion for music remained undiminished. He honed his rapping skills in high school, gradually evolving his craft.

His trajectory continued upward with the release of These Days… in 2014 and Do What Thou Wilt. in 2016. These albums saw him delivering hits and climbing the Billboard charts.

 

Continued Dominance:

After a relatively quiet period, Ab-Soul marked his return with tracks like “Dangerookipawaa Freestyle” and collaborations with artists like Anderson .Paak and REASON. The year 2022 saw him drop several tracks and release the highly anticipated album, Herbert.
